Summary: Kris Allen had known that he wasn't going to spend the rest of his life doing nothing but charity work. He's made it his main focus over the years, but as Crown Prince of Arkansas, he'd known that it wasn't going to last forever. Kings can't exactly spend the majority of their reign in other countries helping other people and neglecting their own. Still, Kris had thought he had a few more years of freedom before he'd have to give up taking such an active role in his work. Then his parents arrange a marriage for him.
Kris knows next to nothing about his intended, except that he's a tabloid darling. All he's heard are rumors and speculation, but not a word from the man himself or those close to him. Kris isn't sure how well a marriage between himself and a man who does things like accidentally sink the Royal Yacht in his spare time will work, but they're both stuck, so they might as well make the best of it. Since his only viable options involve throwing himself into the Royal Lake or pretending to throw himself into the Royal Lake and moving to another country far, far away from here with a new identity, Kris thinks giving it a shot is a good way to go.
